So Much Further To Go…

An ace new Alexis Taylor video for So Much Further To Go has just gone online here.

“The video for So Much Further To Go is my favourite so far of three collaborations with director Simon Owens, and has something of a silent movie ‘Myth of Sisyphus’ feel to it. I’m not rolling a rock up a hill continuously but am instead stuck, peddling endlessly on my exercise bike, as the world is moving around me. Making the video was like making a Werner Herzog film with a budget of £300, but with Broadwater Farm Estate behind me instead of the Amazonian jungle.”

A version of So Much Further To Go was included on the last Hot Chip LP Why Make Sense?

Thank You.

The UK tour is now over – an incredible series of gigs, we’re still trying to take the whole thing in. Here’s a few kind words written by people who came to the final shows in London.

A gig that reminded us that we should cherish Hot Chip while they’re still around.” Evening Standard

A triumphant homecoming for the best dance act of their generation.” Gigwise

At Brixton Academy, Hot Chip cemented their position as one of Britain’s greatest electronic pop groups in a generation, on record and in the live setting.” The Line of Best Fit

When they are firing on all cylinders, the results are thrilling and incredibly hard for anyone to top.” Music OMH

Hot Chip reeled out a selection of hits that reminded you of just how long they’ve been at their musical peak.” Ransom Note

When the songs are riddled with grooves as infectious as this, you’ll be grinning, embracing the stranger next to you and dancing too hard to care.” London In Stereo

In case you missed it last week, the deluxe version of Why Make Sense? is available now, as is the standalone Dancing In The Dark EP.

Hot Chip have announced a brand new four track EP – ‘Dancing In the Dark’ – due for release on Domino on 23rd October 2015. A handful of Why Make Sense? reviews…

Reviews are starting to come in for the new album – word is pretty damn positive so far.

“A meaty electro-grooving celebration of love, hope, dancing and the freedom not to act logically… In a world of over-emoting, over-promising pop, sometimes it’s the quiet men who deliver.” Q 4*

“Stripped back to basics and muttering against the machines, they’ve never come on so strong.” NME 8/10

“The logical progression for a band who know exactly what they are doing” MOJO 4*

“The slow jams are pleasingly sentimental, the arrangements spacious, except for ‘Need You Now’, a claustrophobic four-to-the-floor that conveys their anxiety at living in a world rife with terror.” Uncut 8/10

“This is the sound of a band still exploring after 15 years, of working out what they want to sound like, where to go next, and most importantly, having a lot of fun doing it.” DIY 4*

Why Make Sense? is released on May 18th – it’s available to pre-order from iTunes or the Domino Mart.
